WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS TUTORIAL?
This tutorial is intended for staff who wish to share a list of ComicsPlus titles or a particular title to a reader at their site by sharing a link. The share option works only within the same school site.
Step 1: Login to MackinVia.
Go to https://iusd.mackinvia.com ( or use the MackinVia link in your IUSD bookmark folder)and enter your district Google username. Click next.
Enter your district password and then click “Next”.
Step 2: Navigate to the Comics Plus database.
On the MackinVia home page, you will see available resources in the left navigation bar. On the Homepage, you will see the “Featured Group: ComicsPlus” and see the tile (red arrow).
Step 3: Open the ComicsPlus database.
As you hover over the tile, you will see the option to “Open Now”. Click on that button.
Step 4: Find a comic book or graphic novel.
Search by title or series in the search box or browse by featured list. If you wish to share a featured list to a reader at you site, click on the title of the list (arrow) or the "All" (red box) to open the title page for that list.
Step 5: Copy the URL for that title list.
Once on the title page for the list, copy the URL which you can then share as a link to a reader who is in the same school site.
Step 6: To share a particular title to reader at your site, find the book and go to the title page by clicking on the title or the "more details".
Step 7: Once the title page for that book is displayed, copy the URL.
This is the link that you will share with a student/reader at your site.
Step 8: For the best experience, the reader should login to their MackinVia before using the link in a browser tab.
If the user is not yet logged in to MackinVia, they will be prompted to do so.
