WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS TUTORIAL?
This tutorial will lay out the different features in the rich content editor. Several features in Canvas support a Rich Content Editor, including Assignments, Discussions, Pages, and Quizzes. You can type text and you can copy and paste text from other sources into the Rich Content Editor. The Rich Content Editor also includes several formatting tools that allow you to modify your text.
Step 1: Rich Content Editor content area

The content editor’s most frequently used features consist of the:
TEXT FEATURES: The drop down menu bar (top row) of the editor is to edit the text in the content box. There are 17 options for font styles. The row of icons has several shortcuts to edit the text in the content box. -
IMAGE: Adding Images To Rich Content Editor

VIDEO and AUDIO: Creating Video or Audio Content
- To expand the shortcut bar on a minimized window, click on the three ellipses at the top right of the toolbar.
Step 2: Rich Content Editor's Top Menu
- Edit: access editing tools such as cut, copy, paste, paste as text, and select all
- View: expand to Fullscreen or access the HTML Editor
- Format: Access text formatting options as well as menus to change font style, font size, and text alignment.
- Tools: View word count and access available apps such as Google Drive
- Table: Tools in this menu allow you to create a table, and edit by cell, row and column.
