WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS TUTORIAL?
This tutorial will guide you through setting up two-factor authentication (MFA) for your IUSD account using OKTA. MFA adds an extra security layer by requiring both your password and a second verification method, making it significantly harder for unauthorized users to access your account and enhancing overall protection against potential breaches.
Step 1: Log in to OKTA
- Go to iusd.okta.com and log in using your IUSD username and Password.
Step 2: Navigate to Settings
- Select your name at the top right corner (1)
- Click on "Settings" from the drop-down menu (2)
Step 3: Turn On MFA
- Scroll down until you see "SECURITY METHODS"
- From there you can select the form of multi-factor authentication that you would like to use.
MFA Options:
- **OKTA Verify - Okta Verify is a multi-factor authentication app installed on your phone or computer, used to prove your identity when logging in for the first time.
- Security Key or Biometric Authenticator - You will be prompted to register a security key or biometric authenticator (Windows Hello, Touch ID, Face ID, etc.).
- Google Authenticator - Enter a temporary code generated from the Google Authenticator app when logging in for the first time.
- Phone - Receive a one-time code that is sent via SMS to a user's phone to verify their identity when logging in for the first time.
