What is the purpose of this tutorial?
This guide demonstrates how to schedule a meeting for Zoom on a web browser.
Step 1: Go to Zoom
- Go iusd.org/zoom
- Click Sign in
- Once you have logged in, click on Meetings on the left navigation bar
- Next, select + Schedule a Meeting
Step 2: Scheduling
- Name your meeting
- Set up the date and time for the meeting
- If this will be a recurring meeting, check the box and modify how often this meeting will occur.
- If you plan to use this meeting link all year, change the recurrence to No Fixed Time.
Step 3: Meeting ID & Security
Choose between generating a random meeting ID or using your personal meeting ID.
- If you teach multiple classes, we recommend using a randomly generated ID and creating a different meeting for each class.
All meetings are required to have a passcode. You have the option to create a custom passcode for your meetings.
- If student’s join using the meeting link, they will not have to enter a password
- If you are using your Personal Meeting ID, this will change the password for all meetings using that use the Personal Meeting ID Link
- Password Requirements:
- Must be six characters
- Must have at least one letter and one number
- Password Requirements:
- The waiting room is checked by default as an additional security measure. If you leave it checked, you will need to admit every student into your class.
Step 4: Video & Audio
- By default, Host and Participant videos will be on. If you turn this off, users will have to manually turn their cameras on after they join the meeting.
- You will also have the option to allow just computer audio or allow people to call in. With students, we recommend using Computer Audio only.
Step 5: Meeting Options
- You have the option to enable some additional meeting settings.
- Mute participants upon entry should be on by default
Step 6: Alternate Host
If you are co-teaching, you can add the other teacher as an alternative host so that they can start the meeting. You’ll also have an option to allow them to add or edit polls within Zoom.
Step 7: Interpretation
If you have participants that need interpretation, you can add the interpreter’s email address and select the corresponding languages.
Step 8: Save
Select Save to complete your meeting setup
(Optional) Turn on AI Companion Panel
- Select Settings
- Select AI Companion
- Toggle on AI Companion panel in Zoom Workplace
