WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS TUTORIAL?
This tutorial is intended to show staff with admin rights in MackinVia how to create an eBook assignment with defined start and end dates and assigned to readers by a six-digit code that they accept.
Step 1: Navigate to MackinVia
Step 2: Go to Assignments
Once logged in, verify that you are in the correct site and then go to the classroom, dropdown to "assignments".
Step 3: Create Assignment
In Assignments, select the Create New Assignment button.
Step 4: Find Title
Filter for the eBook by title.
Step 5: Assign It
Choose the "Assign it" button to the right of the title.
Step 6: Enter Assignment Details
Fill in the number of copies needed and the start and end dates of the assignment.
The start date cannot be the same date as the date of creation. Some resources are site licenses so that there are unlimited copies. If there are a limited number of licenses for an eBook, the copies available will be visible. You can see the 6-digit Assignment code in this view.
Step 7: Verify Assignment
Once you save the assignment, you will need to filter for "scheduled" assignments to see it.
Step 8: Locate Share Code
In the scheduled view, you will see the course code to share with teacher/students and as they redeem the code, you will see the usernames of the members.
