WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS TUTORIAL?
The purpose of this guide is to show the steps in creating an Adobe Creative Commons Express video. Both teachers and students can use these steps to show how to do an activity, to present information or share ideas.
Step 1: Sign in
Go to adobe.com/express to sign in to your IUSD account. Be sure to select TEACHER or STUDENT on the right side of the first screen, then the Enterprise School account to access your free, IUSD account. You may then use your IUSD credentials by choosing Sign In With Google. Click HERE for login tutorial
Step 2: Dashboard
This is your Home area where you can select the type of project you would like to create. In Home, you can view all the things you can create. Projects - you are able to edit the projects you are working on. As a premium account holder, you may also create your own brand and logo.
Step 3: Create a project
Click on + to Create a New project and select Video
Step 4: Pick a canvas
Pick a story template, or start from scratch. In the upper right is Adobe Creative Commons Express Tools.
Layout - allows the creator to select different layouts for each slide
Resize - allows the creator to resize the entire video slides
Step 5: Theme
Choose a theme for different color, font, and transition styles.
Click on Theme - there are at least 10 Themes to select - a theme can be changed at any time.
The theme stays the same for all video slides. The font goes with the theme
Click on the shuffle button to get more choices of theme colors - there are fifteen different theme colors.
Step 6: Music
Click on Music - toggle Music on and off. Control the volume for how loud you want the music to play, while you are talking. Add my music - if you want to leave Adobe Spark and add your own music
All the titles listed below “Add my music” are usable tunes to use in Adobe Spark video. Clicking the arrow next to the title allows the listener to hear the tune. Click on the title to have it added to your video.
Step 7: Create a video
Now you are ready to start your video. Click on the plus sign, it then gives you options of what can go in that space.
Video - upload another Adobe Spark video
Text - add your text, click, drag, and drop your text for different alignment options, text can be enlarged or made smaller
Photo - find free photos with Adobe Spark or Upload Photo
Icon - you can pick icons to tell your story
*Hint - when clicking on the plus sign, you may get different options because Adobe Spark is helping to give it that publisher feel
Step 8: Recording your voice
Click and hold on the red microphone to record your voice. Suggestion: Complete all the slides, then add the voice over. You have up to 30 seconds per slide to talk.
Step 9: Video complete
Your video is complete and is automatically saved in your Adobe Creative Commons Express projects. While you are in your video - you can preview it to see what a student would see. The video can also be downloaded.
Step 10: Sharing your video
Share option 1 - Invite
You can invite other Adobe Creative Commons Express users to collaborate on your Adobe Spark Video. Only one person at a time can work on it, yet, there can be multiple collaborators - just at different times.
Share option 2 - Publish -
When completed, students must click PUBLISH. Students need to Title their video and select a category, such as Education. A red line will show across the top of the screen as the AdobeSpark is processing.
Students may either copy the link and share it with you through a Google Docs/Shared Folder or through Google Classroom. Click HERE to view the tutorial on Google Classroom and Adobe Spark
Step 11: Viewing a completed video
Now that this video is completed, you can go back to your projects to view other videos that you may be working on or start another creation. Click on the icon in the left corner to bring you back to your dashboard.
