Bluebook™ is a digital testing app from College Board used for various tests like the Digital PSAT and AP Exams. You can run the Bluebook™ testing app on a personal Windows or Mac device, an iPad, or an IUSD-issued Chromebook.
System Requirements |
For Windows
- You need to be running Windows 10 or later.
- Your device needs 250 MB of available disk space for 1 exam, plus an additional 50 MB for each additional exam.
- If you’re testing with a laptop, external keyboards are not permitted.
- External mice are permitted.
For Mac
- You need to be running macOS 11.4 or later.
- Your device needs 150 MB of available disk space for 1 exam, plus an additional 50 MB for each additional exam.
- If you’re testing with a laptop, external keyboards are not permitted.
- External mice are permitted.
For iPads
- You need to be running iPadOS 14 or later.
- Your device needs 150 MB of available disk space for 1 exam, plus an additional 50 MB for each additional exam.
- External mice are permitted.
- AP Exams: External keyboards are required for iPads.
For School-Managed Chromebooks
- You can only run Bluebook on a school-managed Chromebook—you cannot use a personal Chromebook.
- Chrome OS 114 (or above) is highly recommended. Bluebook won't run on operating systems below Chrome OS 102.

If you’re testing on a personal device (Windows or Mac), you can download Bluebook now and start exploring the app.
Launching Bluebook on an IUSD Chromebook |
If you’re testing on an IUSD-issued Chromebook, please sign out and then launch the Bluebook app from the apps menu in the lower left corner.
Locate the Apps menu in the lower left of the sign-in page next to the Shutdown option.
- Click on Apps Menu
- Click on the Bluebook™ to launch the testing application
