WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS TUTORIAL?
This guide will show teachers and students how to check for updates with the Zoom Client Desktop app. This is for those who are using a computer for Zoom and not a Chromebook, tablet or smartphone. Users will also have needed to download the desktop Client app ahead of time.
STEP 1: Open Zoom
Select the Zoom icon on the bottom task bar, or type Zoom in the search bar.
STEP 2: Select Sign In
STEP 3: Select SSO Option
Once you have opened Zoom, click on Sign in with SSO
Enter “iusd” as the company domain and click Continue
STEP 4: Open Meeting
This will open a tab in your web browser and will take you to Zoom. Click on Open Zoom Meetings.
STEP 5: Select Profile
Click on your profile icon at the top right of the window shown below
STEP 6: Check for Updates
When you click on your icon, a dropdown menu will appear. Select Check for Updates, as shown below
STEP 7: Run Update
The pop-up window that appears will show the version of Zoom that you have installed as well as a recommendation to update if you have updates available.
Once the pop-up window has completed loading, select Update.
If your Zoom app is up to date, you’ll see the following pop-up menu.
STEP 8: Edit Update Settings
If you would like Zoom to automatically update for every release, check the Automatically keep Zoom up to date box and select “Fast (Try the newest features and updates).”
