This spring, students in grades 3-8 and 11 will participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). Students may use a personal device to access the assessments if it meets the following technical requirements:
- The device is a PC or Mac laptop or desktop (personal Chromebooks are not supported)
- macOS version 11.6 or higher
- Windows 10 version 22H2 or higher
- Windows 11 version 22H2 or higher
- The device has a:
- Camera or webcam
- Microphone
- Speaker or headphones
- Mouse, touchpad, or touchscreen
Students will also need the state’s secure browser to access the test. Download the secure browser before testing using the directions below for your device.

Be sure to download and install the correct Secure Browser for your version of macOS. To determine which version of macOS your device is running, follow the instructions on this page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201260

If your device does not meet technical requirements or if you do not want to download the secure browser on your personal device, you may check out a district Chromebook for testing from your school site. Please contact the Library/Media Center on campus for additional details.
